About me
Mulher forte
Strong woman
dance for women
Wansat wa n'tamo
Wansat wa n'tamo is a project that promotes women's well-being in society by boosting their self-esteem and strength in the face of a patriarchal society. A woman has the right and responsibility to be a mother and housewife while also embracing her femininity. She doesn't have to be beautiful for men, but for herself. Feeling beautiful inside and out and announcing to the world that "I am here, I can" is liberating.
I invite women to express their self-esteem and confidence through dance, specifically with the feminine swing of sensuality and sexuality. It's about feeling relaxed and happy, and getting to know their bodies and intimacy better. We can learn not to be ashamed and to proudly declare "I love who I am, I am strong in every way." All women are invited to be part of this dance that teaches us to love ourselves. We all have an inner being waiting to be discovered.
As a traditional and contemporary dancer who's passionate about swing, I, Judite Novela, convey this joy to women through Mozambican swing. I want to help and encourage women to be true to themselves, strong, and confident through dance and a smile. I also want to talk about the capulana, which is an important symbol of the Mozambican (African) woman.
"My dream is to expand swing dancing to various corners of Mozambique, particularly by establishing more swing schools in Maputo. I also aspire to collaborate with swing schools around the world. Ultimately, I aim to establish my very own swing dance academy in Maputo."
